Focus on Research and Development of Superior Products

Research and new product development are core activities of PRIME Farm Seeds.

Elite inbred lines are the basis of hybrid performance and value.  They are the result of persistent, cyclic plant breeding efforts.  We are accessing the best inbreds available and developing our own inbreds to make new hybrids that are then extensively tested to determine their value.

We have research collaborations with leading technology providers for improved corn genetics and value-added traits such as insect resistance, herbicide tolerance, and enhanced grain quality.  Our partnerships with these technology providers include research activities that, in turn, assist the providers in the further development of new genetic material and technology.  The goal is better direction and development of these new tools for use on your farm.

We conduct an extensive replicated two-row plot testing program where thousands of new hybrids are precisely evaluated for their potential to advance in the product development pipeline.  Hybrids advance from these smaller two-row plots to our Replicated Micro-Strip Trials featuring four-row plots which are located strategically throughout our marketing area.  These test sites are convenient locations for you to see new products for yourself throughout the growing season and especially at our Fall Field Days.
